I'm a retired public school educator and administrator. I always read A Wrinkle in Time to my fifth-grade class after the noon recess. It helped them relax before we settled in for afternoon lessons. If the students asked questions, I tried to answer them and encouraged them to offer their perspectives. I taught in a rural Appalachian town and never had any pushback from the students' parents. This was in the 1970s.
